False friends


There are many words in English that are the same or very similar in Spanish, we call them cognates; such as  hospital-hospital, delicious-delicioso, correct-correcto etc… These can be very useful when learning English however there are also many words that look similar but in fact have a very different meaning, we call these false friends. For example in the title picture embarazada-embarrased, the first means pregnant and the other means to feel silly/foolish.
